"Dr. Huskey taught me more than just the material for subjects she taught. I learned how to budget time, prioritize my life, learn to accept differences in opinion and to care for all people regardless of differences we may have. She restored my faith in humanity through her kind mentoring, yet tough love. She never let excuses be accepted in the classroom or in life. I saw her exemplify this by living it herself. I observed her masterfully balance having a family, being a professor, mentoring students, being an advisor, working with her sorority and still successfully completing her doctorate degree- and those were just the things I saw. Dr. Huskey took an interest in each of her students. Personally I had the privilege of having Dr. Huskey as my professor for five courses and those courses were unlike any I had taught by other professors. Instead of trying to banish electronics from the classroom Dr. Huskey had us bring them to the forefront of our learning. We used computers, tablets and even cell phones to enhance our learning through technology. My learning in college went from the mundane lectures following a PowerPoint in many of my other courses, to discussions about the Prezi Dr. Huskey had put together and the polls she took that we voted in with our cell phones. Classes with Dr. Huskey were meant to be lively and full of thoughtful discussion amongst everyone. Her classroom was a safe space to put your thoughts on the line without fear of being bashed for your view of the matter at hand." (From Linkedin Profile)

"Stephanie Huskey is the epitome of what a 21st century educator should look like. She innovates technology and passion in the classroom in a captivating way. I have personally worked with Stephanie on pioneering new programs, to expanding my own leadership skills outside the classroom. She not only supports her students in all endeavors, but she also fosters an avenue for growth that extends beyond the post-secondary education setting. Through her commitment to her students and her profession she prepares young students for post-graduation success through graduate studies or real world experiences. Stephanie is one of the best educators I have ever met, but she is much more than this; she is a mentor, friend, and support system that never fails."

"I had the opportunity to work closely with Mrs. Huskey as the advisor of my sorority. I was the president of Alpha Xi Gamma and we stayed in constant contact planning and organizing. I learned so much from her during that time. Mrs. Huskey always challenged me to think in different ways and to keep my mind open to different options and opportunities that could arise. She helped me grow and have confidence in my leadership abilities, which is something that I will use for the rest of my life. I can never thank her enough for all that she has taught me." "Stephanie Huskey is my definition of success. It takes a special skill set to teach in front of a large group of college students while captivating their attention AND respect. Being an aspiring teacher at the time, I tackled the opportunity to be her Peer Leader. I specifically requested to be assigned to her so I could observe and lean the methods that made her so effective. Her planning was extensive, yet she remained flexible enough to accommodate her students at the last minute if necessary. She taught me a plethora of things, but her communication with students is what stood out the most. She presented herself professionally, but made students feel comfortable enough to engage in classroom conversations. Her commitment to students was apparent in and out of the classroom. She made herself available to assist however she could, academically and personally. Stephanie Huskey has impacted my life in ways that will make me a better person and teacher. Her future students should consider themselves privileged; not everybody gets that opportunity to learn from such a driven, compassionate, and respectable individual."

"During my sophomore year at Tennessee Wesleyan, I was still undecided about what I wanted to do with my life. I enrolled in Intro level courses in several subjects, hoping to find one that sparked an interest in me. Rather unexpectedly, the spark I was seeking came not from a subject, but from a professor with a profound passion for teaching and compassion for students. Stephanie Huskey, the motivator, mentor, friend, and coach, is the reason I am where I am today. She immediately situates herself as a vested partner in student success, demonstrates unparalleled organization and preparedness, works tirelessly as an active leader in extracurricular organizations, and is a black-belted karate champion…I wouldn't mess with her!"

“Mrs. Huskey is just an exceptional professor. Although I was an education major, she treated me with respect and valued me just as if I were one of her advisees. Her courses were rigorous and, most importantly, applicable to what I needed to have as an elementary teacher. Mrs. Huskey went above and beyond her job by teaching self defense classes each semester and advising one of my favorite organizations on campus. She became more than a professor, but someone that I could talk to, joke with, and rely on in school and out. She took feedback seriously and applied it to her classes so that every person could gain the most knowledge, which is a truly rare quality. Mrs. Huskey has a positivity and passion that radiates so greatly that she inspires any person that is fortunate enough to be around her. She is the educator I aspire to become.”

"Stephanie Huskey was teaching my first class on the first day of my college career in a new country and completely new environment, which I thought was going to be intimidating. However from that moment on Mrs. Huskey was welcoming, friendly and played an important role in my success as a student. Classes were interesting, and Mrs. Huskey went out of her way to create lesson plans which weren't 'by the book' causing her more strain but the students more success. In order to be engaged a student needs to be enjoying their self and seeing success. Classes were not easy but success was visible. I couldn't Thank her enough for the effort she put in for me as a student to make sure I was successful.”
